Sumi Ink Club
August 18, 2012 / Fillip is pleased to present an open-to-the-public participatory drawing event with Sumi Ink Club, a platform for collaborative drawing founded in 2005 by Los Angeles–based artists Sarah Rara and Luke Fischbeck. In each of its permutations, Sumi Ink Club uses group drawing as a means to open and fortify social interactions. Everyone welcome: all ages, all styles.
Produced as part of MagScene on Main, the Sumi Ink Club event will be hosted by Eugene Choo at 3683 Main Street, Vancouver on a drop in basis from 1:30–5 pm.
Lucky Dragons
Experimental music group Lucky Dragons (Sarah Rara and Luke Fischbeck) will play a free show Friday, August 17, 8:30 pm, at Access Gallery as part of Thoughts on Text: A Hammock Residency Project.
Lucky Dragons’ performances include live music, video projection, and sounds created in collaboration with the audience. They have produced several dozen albums since 1999, and performed internationally, including at MoMA PS1 and the 2008 Whitney Biennial.
Co-presented with Access Gallery, OCW Magazine, and Project Space
